Change of Practice Time
Due to Daylight saving time, running club will meet at 4:30pm instead of 5:30pm starting the week of November 2, and continuing until the spring time change in March.
Return to In-Person Practices
We will now be using a daily run sign up sheet for practices! This should reduce the amount of people you come in contact with on runs, and can help with contact tracing if needed. Detailed instructions for the sign-up sheet can be found in the newsletter here.
Click here for the Daily Run Signup Sheet!
Suspension of In-Person Meetings
The OSU Running Club will not be meeting for runs in-person until September 9th due to OSU’s suspension on in-person student organization events or gatherings. Stay tuned for more information about when and how we can meet next!

New Website Feature - Race Photo Blog!
Hello! Just wanted to give a quick update and make everyone aware of a hot new feature on our website - Race Photos! This page is a collection of all of our meet photos from the 2018-19 school year (cross country and track), and will continue to be updated for future races. It features a couple dozen pictures in a slideshow format as “highlights” of our collection of photos from each meet. If you want to dive deeper, you can see the full album of all of the pictures taken at each meet in the form of a Google Photos album, which is linked underneath each photo blog post. My goal with this page is to aggregate all of our pictures scattered across Facebook and wherever else and make them publicly available in one place. Any feedback on this page and our albums is greatly appreciated!
You can find the blog under Competitive -> Race Photos, or use a direct link here. Also, be patient with load times and careful with mobile data on this page, since there are a lot of photos!

2019 Track Season Update
Hello Buckeye runners both new and old!
Welcome back to campus. I hope you’re all ready to run lots of circles with Running Club as we welcome track season by trading out our hills and grass for the sauna that is French Field House.
Our practice schedule for spring is a little different and is separated by distance groups. See a summary below:
NOTE: As of 3/18 (after the spring time change and for our outdoor track season), all practices are at 5:30pm, and Tuesday/Thursday workouts will be held at Jesse Owens Stadium.
Indoor track schedule:
M, W, F - Mid/Long distance: 4:30pm @ Ohio Union, Sprints: 5:30pm @ RPAC
T, Th - Entire team 7:00-8:30pm @ French Field House
NOTE: As of 3/18 (after the spring time change), all practices are at 5:30pm, and Tuesday/Thursday workouts will be held at Jesse Owens Stadium,
Since our sprinters operate a little differently than the rest of the club, please direct any sprinting questions to either of our sprint captains, Jaime Donaldson.208 or Marvellous Olowookere.1.
As always, our meet schedule can be found on our website’s racing calendar. This event calendar is constantly updated with the most recent meet information (in case you needed another reason to visit our website :) ). I’ll also list it here:
Indoor:
Jan 26: Capital Open
Feb 2: YSU Mid-Major Invite
Feb 16: Kenyon Classic
Feb 22-23: Illinois Club Relays
Outdoor:
Mar 23: Muskingum Invite
Mar 30: Otterbein Invite
Apr 6: OU Cherry Blossom Invite (new as of 3/26)
Apr 13-14: NIRCA Nationals (Miami)
Apr 19: Otterbein Twilight Invite (new as of 3/26)
A competitive spring membership covers both indoor and outdoor track, and as always, the meets and events in which you participate are completely up to you.
The website’s social calendar is also updated as new social events are announced. The calendar lists both upcoming and past social events, so check it out if you’d like to get an idea of what being a Running Club social member is like.
Most information is announced and club discussion is held on our Facebook group, Ohio State Running Club 2018-2019, so it’s important to join this group and stay in the loop for all things Running Club. As a reminder, this Facebook group is restricted to runners that have paid for a spring membership. We also have a general Facebook group, Ohio State Running Club, that is open to all and serves as a way for both current and past members to keep in touch.
Another good way to stay in the loop is subscribing to our newsletter. You can find a link to do so on the Newsletter page, where you can also read our past newsletters.
If you’re a new member and are interested in joining Running Club or need to renew or change your membership from fall semester, be sure to fill out our registration form by using the link below. Our spring semester memberships are $35 for social and $70 for competitive. If you have any registration questions, contact our Treasurer, Megan Falknor (her info is listed in the form). We have not yet determined a registration deadline, but will announce it when we do.

Welcome to our New-Look Website!
Hey everyone, Webmaster speaking.
We have made the transition over to this new website template! Ultimately, the goal is to make the Ohio State Running Club website a hub for everything related to our club. Transitioning to this cleaner, easy to navigate, and modifiable form is the first step toward doing just that.
My personal view as Webmaster is to maintain an open conversation with members and work to add pages and functionality to the places that you all find most important. Comments and suggestions are always welcome, just email me at polatas.2@osu.edu.
I am continuing to make additions and improvements to the site on a regular basis, and major changes will be mentioned here, in the new "Announcements" page. Apart from website work, the Announcements will be used for major club events, like season schedules and our biggest social gatherings (on that note, come to the Welcome Week Run on Tuesday the 21st at 5:30 at Wexner Plaza).
What else is new?
We now have hubs for the social/competitive sides of the club.
Our homepage is a static welcome page, but is automatically updated with the most recent Announcements and the next event for both social and competitive.
Newsletters are collected and linked here on the website under the News tab.
Our contact information is more easily accessible.
Thanks for taking the time to read all this. I hope you find the new website as a big step up. And as always, happy running.
Your Webmaster,
Matt Polatas
2018 Summer Training Plan
Hey Running Club! Your long distance captain, Ryan Heckman, has once again delivered a summer training plan to help you all get ready for the upcoming cross country season and beyond. The plan begins today, May 28, and runs right up to Welcome Week in August. Included in the plan is a week-by-week mileage guide, a workout calendar, and a set of lifting exercises. There may be minor tweaks to this plan, so check the OSU Running Club Facebook group for those - this post will always have the up-to-date version. Be sure to share this plan with anyone who may be interested in Running Club and feel free to email heckman.92@osu.edu with any questions. Happy running!
For all the sprinters out there, Jaime Donaldson and Marv Olowookere (your fine sprint captains) have created a summer workout plan for you all that begins on June 4 and also runs right up to Welcome Week. Check it out below, and contact donaldson.208@osu.edu or olowookere.1@osu.edu if you have any questions!
2018 Sprinter Summer Training Plan
Under Construction
Hey Running Buckeyes and all other Internet users who happen to have stumbled across this site. Welcome! I'm Matt Polatas, your Webmaster for the 2018-19 year, and over the summer, I'm working on the task of transforming this website into a tool for OSU Running Club's members and supporters alike. Because of this, the site will be constantly changing and might not be as gorgeous as you or I would like, but we're getting there! To be fair, it was never exactly gorgeous to begin with.
If all goes well, this will be your destination for all things Running Club - from racing results to a social calendar to personal stories and all the other things that we think make our club so great. And if all doesn't go well, please don't re-elect me to this position in the spring. I'm here to help create a website that both draws prospective runners in and eliminates any confused Facebook posts or angry emails from current members.
Any help that you can offer along the way is greatly appreciated, so feel free to email me at polatas.2@osu.edu with any questions, complaints, ideas - anything that would help me create a better website for you.
Your Webmaster,
Matt Polatas
